How to Plan your Singapore Tour Package from Kerala
Hi All, I would like to share my thoughts about planning a Singapore tour package from Kerala. I will share my experience which i think can help you plan a good tour package.
Singapore is a very small country which is located in the far east of the map. Though its very small. Its very developed neat and clean. Singapore is a country with multi culture . The Malays, Chinese and Indians are the major ethnic groups in Singapore.
Selecting a flight: there are so many options . Please keep in mind for all the airlines though it is a budget no frill carrier or a regular air line , there ticket rate depends up on the load in the specific flight date , to optimize the revenue there fare system can be explained like first 20 seats in the lowest rate, next 20 in little Conference hallgher rate. Next higher and so on..booking in advance definitely you can get a better fare. And check for any offers from the airline. Don't get confused with the lower fare advertisements in news paper ,as they will show only the basic airfare only. There will be additional taxes please checks with travel agent or go to a ticketing portal and go up the last page to get the total fare playable
Option 1 Silk Air- http://www.silkair.com Direct flight. This is the most luxurious Option flight provides food and drinks . beer wine whisky etc. Allows 30 kg check in baggage and 7 kg hand baggage. But if you are taking a 2-3 kg extra also they wont mind. One drawback is most of these flights reach Singapore early in the morning about 6. 30 am .
Option 2:Tiger Airways. http://www.tigerair.com/in/en/ Which is also a Singapore owned budget Airways. Normally Ticket fare includes only 7 to 10 kg hand baggage. But no food and Check in baggage. But it can be purchased while booking the tickets .As the timing is early morning about 1.30 am if there is no food also it wont be a problem. But you can add luggage, If a family is travelling for making it budgeted no need to book luggage for all persons , instead you can book 20 or 30 kg luggage for 1 person. And remember to book the luggage while booking the luggage or you can add it up to 2-3 days before the travel. And you have the option to pay while checking in flight . but I don't suggest this as they will charge almost 3 times the amount than while taking it before.
Option 3- Malaysian Airlines. http://www.malaysiaairlines.com Malaysian Airlines flight departs from Kochi by 12.50 am and reaches Singapore by around 11.30 am. 30 kg check in baggage and 7 kg check in baggage can be carried.
Option 4- Srilankan Airlines. It is very ddifficult to get good connection flights From Kerala to Singapore. Srilankan Airlines flies only from Kochi and Trivandrum. The main problam is the transit time will be very much , most of the time you have to stay one night at the transit hotel. And if the transit time is less than 8 hrs . The Airline will not give transit hotel , so you have to spend your time at the airport or another good option to spend some time is to take a city tour . You can book city tour from the airport itself. Near to the Stpc counter you can book the city tour it will be approximately USD 10 Per person. There is nnothing much to see in colombo city tour they will take you to some places in the city like Bandaranayake memmorial international Confere hall. Indipendance squre etc and the next thing is shopping..
Hotels.- The first and most important thing to remember is the check in time of the hotel is 1400 -1500 hrs and check out 1200 hrs. Almost all the flights are arriving from 6 am to 11 am .So either you have to take pre night accommodation or need to wait in the lobby till 2 pm 3 pm as hotel check in time is that. Some hotels will allow you to check in early if they have rooms available. As the hotels don't want there guests to wait in the lobby.If you are ready to wait for some time you dont need to book pre night ,almost all the hotels charge 1 night rate for confirmed early check in.
And at your last day remember that your checkout time is 12.00 hrs. So if you have any morning sight seeing on the last day like jurong bird park. Please do checkout of the hotel before you go to for sight seeing. You can keep your luggages in the lobby. Hotel people will Lock it for you. You can come back after sight seeing . take your lunch. Do the last minute shopping. Reach the hotel by evening for your airport transfer. If you want to refresh there will be toilets at the lobby. Later procee yo airport for your flight.
While selecting hotels we Indians can select hotels near to or in little India Area. So that finding Indian restaurant in walkable distance and shopping won't become a problem.
If taking Grand Chancellor take the tower block. Don't take the podium block.At podium block there wont be a tea coffe maker and water bottles wont be provided.
Sightseeing
1. City Tour : City tour will be only around 2hrs visiting the major places like China town. Merlion park etc.. Will visit one temple.
2. Night Safari : It is the Singapore zoo which is shown in a night ambiance
3. Sentosa : Setosa Island is separate island which has so many activities. Some of the major activities are images of Singapore. Underwater world. Dolphin show. Song of the sea etc. Song of the sea is planned to close on 24th April 2014 onwards. Normally you can take one way transfer to the island by cable car and return by coach.
4. Universal Studio : The main attraction in Singapore. Dont miss this activity at any cost. The highlight of your singapore trip will be universal studuos. Universal studio Singapore is also located in the resort world Santosa island. It is a theame park which is based on the movies produced by universal studios. There are shows and activities for all age people. From stage shows to roller coaster rides. Things which can not be missed are transformers and water world.
Things to be noted at Univarsal Studio..
1. Food . It is very ddifficult to get good Indian food. So you can go to the Egyptian restaurant. which is having some indian dishes. But most of us dont like the taste of food there. So my personal choise is to buy ffruit box and juice which is available in most shops. If you find it difficult, go to the shop oopposite to transformers.
2. Time . Just near to the entrance you can find papers in the sstandees with map and show timings.for each family The parents can take 1 each and cchildren's can take 1 each. The Map will guide you where these activities are Located and the slip with the timing is very useful as it will show you at what time a show will Start . So that you can plan your timing accordingly..If there is queue for any activity please check the board before it it will show approximate waiting time. So if the waiting time is more its better to take another activity which dont have much queue. You can come back later. Water world have only 3 show daily so this is the activity you have to plan Find the llocation and timing well in advace. As soon as you enter the park . Try to make it to the 1 st show.
3. Childrens . Children's Are not aallowed
in many aactivities which are Like roller coster etc. Age is not tje facter there hight matters
5. Jurong Bird park : It is a bird park which is located in the jurong area of Singapore. There are so many birds in the park . You can feed some birds and as the area is vast the transportation inside the park is by tram
